VERIFICATION OF BUCKLING INSTABILITY
FC
When the cylinder is pushing, it can be subject to buckling instability, depending on the mounting, the stroke and the force. The graph shows for each rod diameter the limit working points. Stay below to have an optimal result. The cylinder mounting determines the stroke factor FC. Multiplying the cylinder stroke by FC, you get the ideal length LI. The LI value on the vertical axis meets the rod diameter line, so defining on the horizontal axis the maximum pushing force for that rod diameter. If the real pushing force do not exceed that value the verification is passed. Spacers and rod extensions must be added to the stroke to get the value of CO, before multiplying it by FC.
