Rack and Pinion Hydraulic Rotary Actuators

The HR series hydraulic rotary actuators generate torque through a gear wheel and a rack driven by two hydraulic cylinders. This solution simplifies the kinematics and is easy to maintain. They are recommended whenever the angle and torque of a rotating component need to be controlled: positioning, tilting, handling, automation.
They are also available with magnetic pistons, for use with magnetic proximity sensors along the entire piston stroke.
Every actuator is individually tested to ISO 10100 before delivery. Italian manufacturing and 50 years of experience in the industry guarantee high quality standards for industrial automation applications.

Features and applications

HR/MR series hydraulic rotary actuators are used wherever a load needs to be swung or positioned over a limited angle. Typical applications include swinging and positioning of components, rotation of fixtures and clamping in workpiece holders. In special machine building and automation, they replace complex mechanisms made up of linear cylinders, levers and linkages with a single compact component. Control via rotation angle and torque makes them suitable for motion sequences where a defined end position and a consistent torque are required. The integrated magnetic sensors allow position feedback to the machine control system — an advantage in automated cycles.
